About

Leeds Dock, The Boulevard, Leeds LS10 1PZ

Leeds Dock is the transformed industrial waterfront south of the city centre — former canal basins and warehouses now home to the Royal Armouries Museum, restaurants, bars, creative studios, and a growing cluster of digital and media businesses. The water taxi runs along the canal connecting the dock to Granary Wharf and the station. The dock area has a pleasant, open feel — wide waterside walkways, converted brick warehouses, and a relaxed atmosphere that contrasts with the bustle of the city centre five minutes' walk away. The dock hosts outdoor events, food markets, and screenings in summer. The converted warehouses house restaurants and bars, and the evening light on the water is lovely. It's still developing — the contrast between polished new builds and unreconstructed industrial remnants is part of the appeal. The walk along the Aire from the dock up to the city centre, passing converted warehouses and under railway arches, is a good way to appreciate how much Leeds has changed. The dock is where the Royal Armouries Museum sits, so combine the two for a half-day waterside outing.
