Terms of Use

Effective 23rd April 2026

Welcome to Pintrekker ("we," "our," "us"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, services, and features. By creating an account or using our site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Community Guidelines, which form part of this agreement.

  1. Eligibility

    • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
    • By registering, you confirm you meet this age requirement. We verify your age via your date of birth during registration, but we do not store your date of birth.
    • If we become aware that a user is under 16, we will suspend the account and delete associated personal data.
  2. Accounts

    • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
    • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
    • You must not share your account with others.
    • You may link a third-party social login (e.g. Google) to your account. You can unlink it at any time via your account settings.
    • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
  3. User Content

Pintrekker allows you to create and share several types of content:

    • Events — multi-venue, multi-date listings such as festivals, exhibitions, or shows.
    • Places — permanent locations such as restaurants, museums, parks, or venues.
    • Socials — informal user-created meetups linked to an Event or a Place, with a date, time, group size, and discussion thread.
    • Reviews — star ratings and written reviews of Events and Places.
    • Comments — discussion messages on Socials.
    • Collections — named, shareable lists of pinned Events, Places, and Socials. Collections can be set to public (accessible to anyone with the link) or private.
    • Trips — collaborative planning spaces where you can organise items, invite friends as participants, and exchange messages.
    • Messages — private messages sent to friends via the chat feature, and messages within Trips.
    • Images and files — up to 4 images and 5 file attachments per Event or Place (accepted formats: doc, docx, jpeg, jpg, png, pdf, webp; maximum 2 MB per file). Images are converted to WebP format for storage.

    Content licence

    • By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and store your content within our service for as long as the content exists on the platform.
    • You remain the owner of your content.
    • You are solely responsible for the content you create and share.

    Content standards

    • You must comply with our Community Guidelines when posting any content.
    • You must not post unlawful, harmful, defamatory, misleading, or infringing material. This includes content that promotes hate speech, violence, extremism, discrimination, harassment, or events intended to incite harm.
    • You must not use our services to publish private residential addresses or any location information you do not have permission to share. By submitting an Event or Place, you confirm that the address is suitable for public display.
    • We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or truth of any user-generated content.
    • We are not liable for content posted by users.

    Listing quality and platform purpose

    • Pintrekker is a curated discovery platform for noteworthy places, events, and social meetups. We reserve the right to remove, de-list, or decline listings that do not align with the platform's purpose.
    • Listings that may be removed include, but are not limited to: accommodation listings (hotels, Airbnbs, holiday lets), generic chain outlets, everyday services (dentists, estate agents, accountants), private residences, and listings created primarily for advertising or selling products rather than genuine discovery.
    • We will exercise this right fairly and proportionately. Where a listing is borderline, we may contact the editor before taking action.
    • Our Community Guidelines provide further detail on what makes a suitable listing for Pintrekker.
    • Decisions regarding listing suitability are made at our discretion and are final, though we welcome feedback.

    Content deletion and restrictions

    • You may delete your own content at any time, subject to the engagement restrictions described below.
    • Community stewardship: Pintrekker operates on a community-contribution model. Once other users have engaged with your listing — by pinning, RSVPing, reviewing, or linking their own Socials to it — the listing becomes a shared community resource. This means you cannot simply delete it, because doing so would disrupt other users' saved plans, reviews, and linked content.
    • Engagement gates: If other users have engaged with your listing (e.g. pinned it, RSVPed, left reviews, or linked Socials to it), you will not be able to delete it outright. Instead, you will be offered the following options:
      • Cancel — mark the listing as cancelled. It will be removed from discovery but remain accessible to users who previously saved it.
      • Unlist — transfer editorial ownership to a system account. You will no longer be associated with the listing, and another user may claim it.
    • Cancelled Events and Socials are permanent — they cannot be un-cancelled. They remain visible to users who pinned or RSVPed to them.
    • Events and Socials are automatically removed from public discovery after their final date has passed, but remain accessible to users who saved them.
  4. Listing Ownership and Claims

    • When you create an Event or Place, you are its editor (owner). Only the editor can modify or manage the listing.
    • If an editor unlists themselves from a listing, editorial ownership is transferred to a system account. The next user may request to claim the listing, and ownership will transfer automatically.
    • If a listing has an active editor, other users may submit an ownership claim with an optional message. The current editor can accept (transferring ownership) or reject the claim.
    • Users who repeatedly claim and then delete listings may be flagged and required to obtain admin approval for future claims.
  5. Place Closure

    • If you are the editor of a Place, you may mark it as closed. Closed Places are hidden from discovery, refuse new engagement (pins, reviews, event links, socials), but remain accessible via direct link and to users who previously saved them.
    • You may reopen a closed Place at any time.
    • Any user may also report a Place as closed via the reporting system.
  6. Social Features

    Friends and messaging

    • You can send and receive friend requests. Friendship is mutual — both users must agree.
    • Private messaging is available between friends only. Messages are persistent (stored on our servers) and are not end-to-end encrypted.
    • Typing indicators and read receipts are transmitted in real time via a third-party service (Pusher).
    • You must not use messaging, friend requests, or any social feature for harassment, spam, or abuse.

    Attendance and broadcasting

    • You can RSVP to Events and Socials and optionally broadcast your attendance to your friends. Broadcasting makes your attendance visible to your friends and may trigger notifications and digest emails.
    • You can stop broadcasting at any time.

    Sharing and invitations

    • You can share Events, Places, Socials, and Collections with friends. You can also invite non-users to Pintrekker by providing their email address.
    • When you share content or send an invitation, an email is sent on your behalf. You must only provide email addresses of people who you reasonably believe would welcome the communication.

    Trips

    • Trips are collaborative planning tools. The trip owner can add or remove participants and manage the trip's content.
    • Participants can view trip items and post messages within the trip.
    • Trip messages are visible to all participants. If you are removed from a trip, you will lose access to its content.

    Collections

    • Collections allow you to organise pinned items into named lists.
    • Public collections are accessible to anyone with the link. You are responsible for the content included in any collection you share publicly.
    • Private collections are visible only to you.

    Calendar downloads

    • You can download .ics calendar files for Events and Socials. These files contain event details (title, description, location, dates, timezone) and are imported into your personal calendar application.
    • Once downloaded, this data is on your device and outside our control.
  7. Content Moderation

    • We moderate content through two user-facing reporting paths and an admin review process.
    • Suggest an Edit: If you notice incorrect information on a listing (e.g. wrong address, hours, or description), you can submit a suggestion to the editor. The editor can accept or dismiss the suggestion.
    • Report a Problem: If a listing is closed, contains spam, includes inappropriate content, or has another issue, you can submit a report. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team.
    • Our moderators may remove content, mark Places as closed, or take other action as appropriate. Content removed by moderators is distinguished from content deleted by users.
    • We do not currently offer a formal appeals process for moderation decisions, but you may contact us at support@pintrekker.com.
    • For full details of acceptable behaviour, see our Community Guidelines.
  8. Notifications and Emails

    • By using Pintrekker, you will receive in-app notifications and email notifications related to your activity (e.g. friend requests, reviews on your listings, attendance reminders, milestone achievements, and trip invitations).
    • You can unsubscribe from engagement emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by visiting your notification preferences. Transactional emails related to your account security and critical service updates cannot be unsubscribed from.
  9. Cookies and Analytics

    • Our site uses cookies for essential functions and analytics.
    • By using the site, you agree to our use of cookies as explained in our Cookie Policy.
  10. Intellectual Property

    • Our website design, branding, and software are owned by us or licensed to us.
    • You may not copy, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of our service.
    • If you believe that content on Pintrekker infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please contact us at support@pintrekker.com with details of the alleged infringement. We will review and respond to valid complaints in accordance with applicable law.
  11. Your Account Deletion Rights

    • You may delete your account at any time via your account settings.
    • Before deletion, you will be shown all your active listings and asked to choose an action for each one (transfer ownership, cancel, close, or delete — subject to the engagement restrictions described in section 3).
    • Account deletion requires password confirmation.
    • Upon deletion, your personal information is scrubbed from our records (name, email, and avatar are replaced with placeholders). Your account is then soft-deleted, meaning the record is retained without personally identifying information. See our Privacy Policy for more on data retention.
    • A confirmation email will be sent to your email address before your personal information is removed.
    • Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
  12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

    • We provide the service "as is" without warranties of any kind.
    • We are not responsible for the accuracy of Events, Places, Socials, reviews, or other user-generated content.
    • Pintrekker is a platform for discovering and organising activities. We are not the organiser or host of any Event, Place, or Social listed on the platform unless explicitly stated. We accept no responsibility for anything that happens at or in connection with a user-listed event, place, or meetup.
    • To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages resulting from your use of the site, including but not limited to reliance on user-generated content, attendance at events or meetups, or interactions with other users.
    • Our service depends on third-party providers (including Google Maps, Google Time Zone API, AWS, and Pusher). We are not liable for interruptions or changes to these third-party services.
  13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pintrekker and its operators from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

  14. Termination

    • We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or misuse the service.
    • You may delete your own account at any time as described in section 12.
  15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you access the service from outside the UK, you are responsible for compliance with any local laws.

  16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with the "Effective Date." If we make significant changes, we will notify registered users by email or in-app notification.

  17. Contact
