Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club
About
Ronnie Scott's has been the heart of London's jazz scene since 1959, and stepping inside still feels like entering another world. The intimate Frith Street basement has hosted everyone from Miles Davis to Amy Winehouse, and the atmosphere on a good night is electric — dim lighting, close tables, world-class musicians playing just metres away from you. The main shows in the downstairs club feature international headliners and typically run two sets per evening. Upstairs, the Late Late Show (from 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays) is more informal, more affordable, and often features incredible young musicians. If you're new to jazz, the upstairs shows are a perfect entry point. Book well in advance for the main room — popular acts sell out weeks ahead. Table seats near the stage are premium but worth every penny. The food is decent (order before the show starts), and the cocktails are strong. This is one of those rare places where the legend lives up to the reality.
