Just So Festival 2026

Just So Festival is an award-winning family arts festival held in the grounds of Rode Hall in Cheshire — a weekend of outdoor theatre, storytelling, music, art, and adventure for families with children aged 0-12. The programming is imaginative and creative in a way that goes far beyond the usual festival kids' area — lantern-lit woodland parades, immersive storytelling in the trees, midnight feasts, tribal competitions between families, and a campfire storytelling circle. The festival divides into tribal lands — Foxes, Frogs, Fish, Stags, Lions, Owls — and families compete in creative challenges throughout the weekend for the tribal trophy. It sounds daft and it's absolutely brilliant. The atmosphere is warm, creative, and genuinely magical for children. Adults get proper live music and a well-stocked bar once the kids are asleep. The Rode Hall estate is beautiful — woodland, lakes, and open fields. The festival is intimate (capacity around 5,000) and sells out months in advance. Book early. The camping is part of the experience — families decorate their pitches and the whole site becomes a temporary village. One of the most creatively ambitious family festivals in the UK.
